Healing

Healing. The whole world needs the touch of our divine Healer. Individuals battling horrendous circumstances and diseases. People infected by the virus of extremism whose minds have been twisted and perceptions distorted. Grieving, injured victims of such people. Societies whose values put each individual at the top of her own hierarchical pyramid so that the culture is driven by selfishness and greed. People under pressure suffering mental and emotional breakdown and giving up on life itself. Profligate lifestyles which trash the beautiful earth and hasten the extinction of whole species. Mindsets which embrace the idea that the end justifies the means. Greedy grabbing which spurns kindness, gentleness and self-control. I could go on ...

‘If you want to...’ a man couched his request to Jesus for healing in words which revealed his doubt. ‘If I want to?’ Jesus echoed. Of course he wants to and of course he can. He healed the man then and he still heals.

Lifting your beautiful, broken world to you today Lord Jesus, for your healing embrace. Pour out your Holy Spirit we pray, and may we be instruments of your divine love in everything we do today. Amen.
