Hiking up the Kintyre way this afternoon, astounded by the awesome views on this most glorious day. The rich blue of the loch and the slightly paler blue of the sky, broken up by the golden gorse, the pale yellow primroses, the rosy flowering currant and the green conifers.

Picking my way down a rather steep bank, I realised it wasn't the big stones that were likely to precipitate a fall, but the scree which could cause a slip.

Jesus warned that he was the cornerstone which could cause folk to stumble. In the daily walk of life, though, I think a build up of little things ... An unkind word here, a thoughtless gesture there ... can land us on our spiritual behinds. Note to self.
